Remembering Robert Lee Overstreet Jr

My name is Ryan Overstreet. My father, Robert Lee Overstreet Jr passed away on January 5, 2019 from a massive heart attack and left behind a wife and three boys who love and deeply care about him. He was 53 years young and had so much life left to live and will be so greatly missed. He did not have life insurance and as everyone knows, death is not only tragic on family but it is very expensive. The expenses included medical bills, funeral arrangements, and financial burdens. My father was a former deputy sheriff for Barrow county for 13 years. He then opened up his Barbershop on Hwy 211 and that's were he begin to make more friends and people who started to love and care for him as we do. After he closed the barbershop, he opened up the batting cages in Winder at the Lions Club called Baseball Academy. He was such a active and amazing father to me growing up. He was a huge baseball fan, so from the day I could walk, he was teaching me everything I could know about being a baseball player and a Christian man. We were always practicing and playing ball, and he even started up our very first travel team. There, we made friendships that were life long and made memories that I will never forget and will always cherish. Before he passed away, Dad opened up a auction house with his wife, Shannon Overstreet. It is called RSO Auction and Liquadation in Commerce Ga. I went to work with him and shannon to help build up the company. Dad and I didn't always see eye to eye but we became closer and closer. I am so blessed and thankful that God allowed me to spend so much needed time with my dad and allow me to help and have 1 on 1 time with him. He loved everyone and NEVER met a stranger . He loved the auction and his wife, Shannon Overstreet, with a passion like no other. He was always working and only wanted the best for the auction and his family. During his time at the auction, he became a better man and better Christian. God could not have given me and my brother a better dad and role model. My dad was a true child of God. He had a rough childhood and lost his mother at a young age. He was born and raised most of his life in Baxley, which if anyone knows, is nothing but fields and grass. Dirt roads are common and playing outside was their life. He moved to winder and met his ex wife, Wendy Overstreet and there is when God began to show in his eyes. After they separated, he begin to dive deep into the word. Then he was given another chance when he met shannon overstreet. It was happiness ever since. R.I.P DAD, I LOVE YOU
