My Mom went into cardiac arrest she was 61 and no history of heart issues. She was unconscious on a ventilator for a week. The Dr's said her heart was fine, they didn't find any answers in her blood work and said no clots or bruising on her brain but her brain was swelling. Five days later the swelling was going down, they had her completely off sedatives but she was still unresponsive. Her toes moved when I rubbed the tops of her feet and her eyes looked as she was blinking with them closed. Palm Sunday at 5:18am I received the call, her heart stopped and they wanted to know if they should continue CPR after 20 min.

I know she wouldn't want any of this. So she rested.

The hospital called 2 days later to ask what funeral home was I releasing her to. I had no idea what to do. I have checked for any arrangements or policies and called funeral homes in the area, Mom was only 61 we never discussed this. I was told after they had her body we would meet to figure it all out. At the meeting I was told they dont do payments or have any assistance programs they need payment upfront and after 8 days they will charge $75 a day storage. My head is spinning and heart exploding I don't know where else to turn. So I am asking for anyone to please help. I feel so trapped and lost.
