#JayStrong - In This Family, No One Fights Alone

Jay's Story.  On the morning of Monday, January 27, Moline High School Senior Jay Akers  was at morning swim practice and attended classes as usual, but by that evening was in Iowa City with the news that an inoperable cancerous tumor had been found on his brain.  His family was told that there is zero recovery from this type of cancer.  He immediately began intense radiation treatments to last 6 weeks in order to reduce some of the side effects.  

Jay is well-loved by his community, and everyone wants to know how they can help Jay and his family.  This campaign was set up  by his Moline Swim Family to alleviate the countless financial burdens this type of news brings with it.....medical bills, medical equipment costs, travel expenses, extended hotel stays, and many unforeseeable costs.
