Give me hope in rebuilding our lives & saving my moms sight

Hi, I'm Ghada, a Palestinian from Gaza. I was living a peaceful and happy life along with my mom. Gaza wasn't just a city for me, it's where I've lived all my memories, the happy and sad ones. Every single detail in Gaza has something special about it, its beautiful beach, its streets, its people, its smell, everything in and with it hits differently. Everything was perfect till the 7th of October.

My mom and I used to live in a lovely house. To others, it may seem like an ordinary house, just like any other house, but for us, it felt like we had the whole world. A place like this brings together all our loved ones, for the most memorable moments of our lives. But the sad part of the story is that our happy lives, with all of their beautiful and precious memories, have been stolen from us since this war started. We were obligated to leave our home with all of our memories behind to save our lives from the airstrikes. Our home which cost us everything we worked for was destroyed in the blink of an eye leaving our dreams and hopes in its ruins

Our suffering began from the first hours of this war. On the seventh day of the war, at two in the morning, we received an evacuation warning as the building we lived in was threatened to be bombed. So we woke up the children and the elderly, and while we were half asleep, we had to go downstairs with dozens of other families, amid screaming and terror. We took refuge in the nearby Al-Quds Hospital. We couldn't take any of our belongings because we didn't have time to evacuate. Shortly after we arrived at the hospital, the building we were staying in, along with five other apartment buildings, were reduced to huge piles of rubble in a horrific bombardment.
‎‏This was the moment we started our painful journey of running from one area to another in search of safety. Whenever we reached a place we thought was safe, before we could settle in, we had to escape again under brutal bombardments. The scene in which I was holding my mother's hand to help her find her way, while she was suffering from visual complications, was the most repeated scene.
‎‏My mother was being treated for high blood pressure in her eyes before the war broke out, and her condition was difficult. She needed urgent specialized medical intervention. However, as we set about treating her, war broke out, worsening her eye condition to the point where she became almost blind.
‎‏Our home was massively destroyed and its destruction devastated us a lot. Life as you know is tough and harsh sometimes and also short. The house was the most precious thing we had. It took my mother a whole lifetime to make it what it is, and my mother is an old woman. I cannot contain the sadness my mother feels now.

other than our bombarded home, our whole life ‏changed. We used to enjoy a quiet, beautiful, family life. The war took everything from us. It left my mother sick and unable
The complete destruction of hospitals and clinics and the collapse of the healthcare sector has put us in confrontation of the nightmarish reality of seeing my mother blind. My mother now needs an urgent operation . your support will save our lives and rescue my mother’s sight.
Every small donation counts. Every small effort can make difference; you can save human lives.
