Maya: Explore STEM- Babson College

I am a proud single mother of 3 children. I have been honored and humbled by my oldest daughter, Maya's high acadameic, athletic, and leadership accomplishments. She never seems to amaze me with her passion, dedication, and self discipline to perfection in her educational and extra curricular school programs. From 3rd grade she was among 25 students in her grade to be recommended to be in her school's gifted and talented program called HOPE. She has maintained her high acadamic standards and has remained in this advanced program for the past 6 years making credit roll every single quarter. This program not only allowed her to challenge herself but to explore her many hidden talents. With her perserverence and hard work, she currently is serving her Jersey City community with being a part of her school's Project Reservoir Science Program (Aquaponics Team), is the main drummer for her school's rockband and band music program for all their concerts, as a female just made her school's football team, has been on the girls basketball team for 2 years and counting, as well as being on the year book committee for her graduating class, where she will be participating in taking photos, videos, editing and publishing their last school year's memories together on social media. Due to her leadership, high acadamics and multifaceted involvement in her school, she was nominated by one of her educators to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF): Explore STEM. In this program nominated students get to spend a week at a college , where she will be exposed to full day activities in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics to prepare them for their future educational pursuits. She has chosen to attend for her week's session Babson College in Boston due to it being the # 1 entrepreneurship college in the U.S. as ranked by U.S. News & World Report continuously. With that comes tuition, room board, airfare, and expenses. I work very hard day in and day out in my profession to ensure I can give my children any and every opportunity that is afforded to them that is in my power in their present and future growth and development. For any family, friends, and aquaintences that no me, I very seldom ever ask for any assistance. I am the type that always wants to assist others and make an impact in their lives, which truly is the most rewarding feeling to me. I wouldn't want Maya or any other child for that matter to pass up such a remarkable nomination/ opportunity due to being a part of a single income household, to no fault of their own. For the first time, I am humbly asking for any size donations that you may be able to spare to contribute to Maya's continued educational pursuit and success.
