Hello world!

My name is Romina, and this is Coco. My partner (Arturo) and I learnt in May 2021 that Coco was up for adoption, and we immediately fell in love with him. Who wouldn't, right? He seemed to be in a sketchy living situation, and we urgently wanted to give him a loving forever home. And we did.

Coco is the sweetest, most friendly pup I know. He and I are especially attached, to the point of it being a joke. You can tell by now he is my baby, and I love him with all my heart. Sadly, we recently discovered he is pretty sick.

Coco has a liver shunt, a malformation in his liver that impacts its function. This condition means he is not absorbing nutrients or eliminating toxins properly. The only cure for this shunt is a costly surgery. We manage his symptoms with medication and diet as we wait for the surgery.

We are so very grateful that there are options for Coco. In the past, maybe this surgery wouldn't be an option. We are also very thankful that Coco has us as his family because we give him the care he needs. We are fortunate to have good jobs and financial stability. Still, this surgery is more than we can afford at this time. Any financial support will help with the cost of the surgery, travel to Guelph for the surgery, medications and a special diet.
