Support Brian's Recovery

On May 16, Brian Behrens was in an accident near the University of Vermont where he attends school.  Details of what happened are unknown, but Brian suffered multiple skull fractures and two brain bleeds.  As with all traumatic brain injuries, the road ahead is uncertain.  He is recovering in the University of Vermont Medical Center and will likely spend a significant amount of time in a rehabilitation facility once he is released.  No one knows yet whether rehabilitation will occur in Vermont, closer to home, or someplace else entirely. What we do know is that recovery from these injuries is slow and often expensive because there are so many professionals involved. To help ease the financial burden of the many anticipated medical and incidental costs related to his recovery, friends of the family are initiating this fundraiser. Funds will help cover expenses such as insurance deductibles and copays, housing and travel for Kelly and Paul, meals while they are in Vermont, transportation for Brian if he is able to rehab closer to home, and any other costs they may incur related to his recovery.
