After a rough start in life, Peter was given Friends of the Animal Community (FOAC) and adopted to his new family as a 13 week old pup. On 7/20/15 Peter was diagnosed with severe genetic hip dysplasia and was given medication to manage his pain for the time being. He was only 8 months old. After about 5 months on the medication, the owner decided that she couldn't afford the medication or a surgery so she abandoned him at a veterinary hospital which is where he has been for the last 2 months living in a kennel. Peter requires a very extensive surgery to correct his hip dysplasia, if he is going to have good quality of life. Peters surgery is going to cost from $3,000 to $7,000. If we are unable to raise this amount of money, Peter will be put to sleep because he wouldn't have a good quality of life by being managed on pain meds alone.
