Hi there, my name is Jade, and I'm an unemployed 37-year-old trans woman who is looking at the events going on here in America and increasingly fearing for my safety! So, like so many others are doing, I am looking to our neighbors in the great white north for refuge, and moving to Canada!

Initial funds will all go towards an immigration lawyer, in order to figure out the best bet for immigration. After that, money will go towards basic moving expenses (planning right now to drive up there), not to mention immigration fees and initial starting money to establish myself up there before I can get a job.

I think based on initial estimates that $5000 is plenty for the whole trip, but I may have to increase this number based on various factors. At the very least, I'm going to need some assistance. If there is, somehow, some excess money, it will most likely go towards surviving the early stages of immigration.

Any and all donations, no matter how small, are appreciated! I do have some family which can potentially help, but they are nowhere near wealthy enough to fund the whole trip. In addition to this, I'll be working to find myself any gigs I can to make any little fractions of money I can find.

Please, I would not be making this request if things were not looking dire. We have politicians calling for the incarceration of all transgender people in America. There is no doubt in my mind that we are headed for some scary stuff! And while I have faith in my ability to survive, I also would like to spare myself the suffering for once in my life.
