Help my cat get surgery
Donation protected
UPDATE
I saw a new vet today as mine was closed and they think only minor surgery without sedation was needed this occasion as they said not to close the wound like the other vet suggested but if it happens again they will need surgery to remove the gland. The bill was just under $700 for everything which is much better than $1200
Thank you to whoever donated
Any help is appreciated
Hello, you guys know me and my absolute love for cats.
I never ask but I'm in desperate need of help to get my cat surgery. She's almost 11 years old.
She presented to the emergency vet last Friday when I came downstairs to meowing and blood everywhere. The emergency vet said it was an abcess and drained it and sent me home.
My regular vet just said it's an anal gland abcess and is a very large wound that requires her to be sedated, shaved, wound cleaned and stitched up and a possible anal gland removal.
The approximate cost without removing the gland is $1,000, more if they have to remove it and regular check ups after to make sure it's healing.
Now if you know me I just spent all my savings on their cat enclosure and the emergency vet bill and I don't really have anything left except to pay my mortgage.
The vet said this will not heal on its own and it is prone to infection and if it gets infected, she could get sepsis and die.
If you have anything spare I would really appreciate the help. I love you all
