Let's Get Michael Home
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and all in between,
One week ago, my best friend Michael presented to the Rhode Island Hospital emergency room for severe stomach pain and nausea. After hours of waiting and numerous tests, it was decided that Michael be admitted to the hospital to await surgery to remove his gallbladder. Over the course of several days, Michael's scheduled surgery was pushed further and further back - making his hospital stay much longer. As you can probably imagine, this whole ordeal has turned his world [and ours] upside down. We are, however, absolutely floored by the strength and positivity he maintains throughout these obstacles.
Since being admitted on 6/27/24, Michael has had three surgical procedures on top of the back surgery he had three weeks prior to this state of affairs. As hurdles continue to emerge, there is no telling how much longer he will stay at RIH. While frustrating at times, Michael has received tremendous help from the nurses who visit often to check in on his well-being.
Michael is not one to ask for help - but, with the amount of support he gives others, it only feels right to return that gesture. I am launching this GoFundMe with the hopes of covering the cost of the rest of his hospital stay and treatments [even from his back surgery]. The costs include:
- Emergency Room Visits
- Surgical Procedures
- Room and Board at RIH
- Copays
- Prescriptions
Our goal is to raise $10,000 to ensure Michael can focus on his treatment and recovery each day, without the added stress of this financial burden. Everything raised will go directly to supporting his stay in RIH and any follow-up that should occur once he is home.
Michael is a loving son, brother, and friend. He has always been there for those around him without question or hesitation. No donation is too small, and every contribution will make a significant difference as he works toward recovery.
Thank you all for the support you have already shown to Michael - your generosity means the world.
With gratitude,
Courtney
