hi, my name is drew (he/him), and i’m a trans-masculine professional dancer working hard to build a future where i can live freely and comfortably in my own body.
as someone whose career depends on being in tune with my body, navigating gender dysphoria every day is incredibly difficult. i’ve been binding my chest for over 10 years, which has caused lasting physical pain, but even more deeply—it’s taken a toll on my mental and emotional well-being.
i’ve been on hormone replacement therapy for the past year, and while that’s been a powerful step toward alignment, top surgery is what i need to truly feel at home in my body. i’ve known this for years, but the financial burden has kept it out of reach.
i’m raising funds to afford a double mastectomy—something that would not only alleviate years of discomfort but allow me to live and move through the world with the confidence and freedom i’ve always dreamed of. it would mean being able to fully show up in my art, my community, and eventually, in a new life chapter for when i move to new york city to pursue my dance career.
unfortunately, i come from a low-income background, and my family is unable to support me financially. that’s why i’m turning to community: if you’re able to donate, share, or spread the word, it would mean the world to me.
thank you for helping me get one step closer to becoming the person i’ve always known i am.
with love and gratitude,
drew
