I am Dionne Bradford, On October 30, 2014, I was diagnosed with Serous Ovarian Adenocarcinoma (Cancer) stage 4, which is the last stage of cancer disease. At that time, I had surgery to remove my enlarged uterus, due to fibroid tumors. The pressure began to interfere with the function of my body’s organs. During the surgery the cancer was detected throughout my abdominal area. Although, I had several ultrasound scans within 3 months period the cancers mass did not reveal itself, because it was hidden by my enlarged uterus. The pictures show the growth of my abdominal area within that 3 months period starting from July 22, 2014 to October 30, 2014. Because of complications my 1½ hour surgery lasted 8 hours. My daughters were asked to make medical decisions on my behalf. Meanwhile, my son, family and friends were in disbelief. I was told by medical staff my life expectancy is 5 years with absolutely no chance of total recovery, also surgery staff did not think I would survive the massive surgery.

Prior to the surgery I did not experience signs or symptoms of the cancer disease. I was placed on medical leave with the expectation of returning to work. I have been unemployed, since July 2014. I do not have a source of income.  Income tax refund is not promising, because of unpaid student loans payments. I struggle to pay medical visit co-payments, medication co-payments, and purchase over the counter medications. My struggle continues to pay past due, current, and future household bills, to purchase daily basic needs and to offer people money to buy gas for my travel. Local community resources have been exhausted. I can not fit most of my clothes, because of weight loss. My vehicle is not operational at this time and I cannot afford the repair cost. Currently, I am financially unstable and unable to work. I often experience tiredness, shortness of breathe and I am going bald. I anticipate the day I can reclaim my life. I want to live to meet my grandchildren’s children. I am undergoing weekly chemotherapy treatments with hopes of remission. My heart desire’s a total Cancer Free “MIRACLE”.
