Bill Thomas Emergency Fundraiser
Donation protected
Thank you all so much for your generous donations and outpouring of love and support for Bill. Great news: We have made contact with Bill, and he is in the process of receiving the funds from this campaign! He is overwhelmed by the response from so many of his friends in the scouting community, and those who just know Bill as the wonderful man he is.
Robert Wager, a valued member of Troop 115 who serves on the Eagle board, and is a recent recipient of the Silver Beaver award, has agreed to be the beneficiary of this campaign on Bill’s behalf. Since Bill does not have a computer of his own, we felt Bob was the best person to help Bill get the funds as quickly as possible. They have been friends for decades and there is no one else I trust more.

In less than two days, we have already met the original goal of $5,000! Thank you all for your tremendous generosity through your donations, sharing the GoFundMe link, and helping to spread the word about Bill. We have decided to increase our goal to $10,000, because every penny will benefit Bill with getting back on his feet! It's wonderful to see how he has affected so many people in so many ways. Let's continue the momentum and show Bill just how much he is loved. :)

Our dear friend, Bill Thomas, lost his apartment and everything in it on December 17, 2018 in a devastating fire. As you all know, Bill is a treasure to everyone he meets. He is a beacon in the scouting community, and has always helped anyone who ever needed it. Now it is Bill who needs our help. Everything that he held dear to him - all of his scouting awards, uniforms, camping supplies, in addition to all of his clothes, personal items, and his dear dog, perished in the fire.
Please consider making a contribution to this wonderful man. Whether you run into him at a Boy Scout Camporee, at Lucas Oil Stadium where he spends many weekends working, or at a random Troop meeting, Bill always has a story to tell and a smile on his face. Troop 115 will also be accepting donations of items you would like to provide Bill. This campaign will run through the end of the year, so please take a moment to help.
Thank you.
