Hey everyone, It's Kaila, Phill's oldest daughter. So where do I begin.  We are currently in Denver, Colorado. Mom, dad and I arrived in Keystone, on saturday, for a vacation of skiing and snowboarding.  Sunday was as a great day of riding. Saturday started amazing as well. We got to the mountain early and started riding around 9am. We made it down 2 runs and we headed to the gondola for round 3. We get on the Gondola and start heading up, and afew minutes pass by. That is when dad went unresponsive. We arrived to the middle of the mountain checkpoint. By this time dad was making odd sounds and not breathing. I open the doors of the gondola to start emergency response. 911 and ski patrol were called.  Another park visitor and I lowered him to the ground. I removed his jacket and his helmet and started chest compressions but I was too high. The guy with us in the gondola was in better position and took over CPR and continued non stop until ski patrol arrived. The man that assisted in saving my dads life was a miracle he happened to be a NP or EMT in an ER department. Amazing right!?!

Ski patrol arrived and immediately took control. They shocked dad 3 times with an AED before they could get any rhythm. He still was not breathing on his own. After a few attempts they were able to get a tube in his mouth to assist with breathing. They brought us down the hill on a stretcher. At the bottom of the hill dad had regained a heartbeat and consciousness. They flew him by helicopter from the resort to a near by hospital. In the helicopter his heart arrested again. CPR was again applied and dad was revived once more.
By then he had arrived to St. Anthony Hospital in Denver Colorado.
