Hello everyone, and thanks in advance for reading and hopefully helping out.
While building his dream on a small piece of land near Wilkie, SK, our disabled brother Rob suffered a catastrophic loss due to fire on Sept.14th, 2018.
Rob's dream was simple. To build close to nature, out in the open prairies, a small sustainable farmhouse with solar panels on the roof. An independent spirit, Rob built it all himself, despite his physical disabilities due to a debilitating car accident that left him in constant pain for the last 20+ years. He requires the use of 2 canes just to walk, but still managed to to build this small structure on his own through sheer willpower and ingenuity. Off the grid, using 24 solar panels for power and a generator for large energy needs, he had not yet reached the stage where insurance could be put in place, even though the structure was built according to code. The weather had turned cold and a fire lit in a wood burning stove ended in a devastating loss.
The vehicle collision that disabled him all those years ago was due to an illegal maneuver by the other driver. Still, Rob's first instinct was to protect his passenger, his beloved Golden Retriever, and then the family in the other vehicle, before he even considered his own injuries. This is one example of the extent to which Rob will give of himself to help others. Even if he doesn't know them. Even if they've caused him pain. A heart as big as the sky, he needs your help now.
We are hoping to raise $100,000 to replace what he has lost. Every little bit adds up and helps him get back on track. So friends, can you give a guy a hand? He still has the land and the drive but, due to his worsening condition, he needs cash to purchase a pre-fabricated replacement structure. Please help relive some of the pain of loss with a financial expression of care and love. Thank you all very much
