Help My Hero, My Dad

Hi everyone, my name is Kennedy Campbell and I am raising money for my father, Joseph Campbell. If you know my dad, he always put his community first. Raised in Ocean Grove as one of 7 children, he was always the one person you could count on. My father was a Firefighter and EMT in Ocean Grove for 20 years, eventually rising to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. He was also a master carpenter by trade working in Monmouth and Ocean counties and eventually starting his own construction company. We moved to West Cape May almost 10 years ago and he has built our family and our modest home to where it is today. He is the type of person to give you a hand when you always need it, a small job, a quick errand, whatever you needed he was there. He is the person that could fix literally anything. It was in 2021, that he got back into the fire service at Cape May Point Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 and where he inspired me to continue the tradition. While he had gone through different injuries in the past, we had never expected something like this to come along. In late October, my father was diagnosed with bladder cancer. There was a cancerous mass in his bladder and was thankful removed. The cancer however had metastasized to his spine, where the bone had deteriorated due to the presence of the cancer cells. He has been in and out of the hospital since the diagnosis. He is no longer is able to work and my mom had to step away from her job as a dietician to help him through this very unexpected and tragic journey. As many of us know, medical bills can become insurmountable, it is with a heavy heart that I reach out to our community for any support. My dad has now been in the hospital since Christmas Eve and the prognosis is poor. My family has been actively praying and I ask all of you keep my family in the light. Happy New Year to all and please remember my dad, my hero forever. God Bless you all.
