Ukrainian Family Needs Our Support

The war in Ukraine has wreaked immeasurable pain and suffering on its citizens. Our family is working together with other families in Eagan, MN to bring a Ukrainian family to America, where they can start rebuilding their lives.

Working with WeAreAlight.org, we have made the commitment to assist Andrey and Oksana, and their children, Gleb & Mila, move to Eagan, MN. Prior to the conflict in Ukraine, their family lived in Kyiv. Andrey worked in Kyiv as a sales manager, and Oksana worked as an accountant. Gleb, who is 14, did well in school and enjoyed playing football and computer games. Mila, who is 9 years old, also did well in school and enjoyed drawing and dancing. Forced from their home in Kyiv, the family was able to relocate to a small apartment in Poland. Andrey is currently working as a truck driver in Europe in order to meet the family's basic needs.

We will provide temporary housing in our home for the family once they arrive. We will also provide transportation and help them through the transition of legal paperwork, finding employment, and enrolling their children in local schools. Our area has a large Ukrainian community to which we will introduce them. Hopefully, this will help them transition to a new life.

According to Andrey "In our family, the priority is education, safety and a good future for our children." With the help of the community, we are eager to help them focus on their family's goals. All monies donated will go towards helping us meet the transitional needs of the family. The cost of airline tickets is estimated to be $5000. They desire to secure permanent housing and work in the United States. In the event that this family does not receive travel authorization, this fund will be used to allow us to meet the needs of another family from Ukraine in a similar situation.
