Rally For Rogas

Donation protected
Julie Rogas is a beautiful friend, mom, daughter, wife, and teacher. No one else can match her radiant smile! She is a talented educator that I have had the pleasure to learn from.

Julie is a Special Education teacher who has dedicated her entire career to working with our severely disabled students aged 3-5. Many of them come to her with physical and cognitive impairments. Few of them have any kind of language. However, I have said to many parents who are hesitant about letting their 3 year old come to school, "I promise you, Julie will take care of your child and you will see great progress." I can always say those words with complete confidence. Sure enough, by the end of the school year, those parents are grateful and amazed with their child's progress.

Julie has not only addressed the academic needs of her students; she also goes to great lengths to care for their emotional needs. She has worked with community organizations over the years to help the families of less fortunate students. She has arranged for families to have beds when all they have to sleep on is the floor. The amount of clothes, shoes, and personal items she has purchased for her students over the years is vast. Julie is more than a "bell to bell" teacher.

Julie and Craig have 2 beautiful children-Macy and Carter. Macy is in college at SFA. Carter is a freshman at Hallsville ISD. Julie and Craig have worked their entire lives, supported their children, and have been responsible with their resources. They are a couple very much like you and me. They work to teach their children the value of setting goals and making an honest living.

Just last week, Julie was diagnosed with Melanoma. This was a significant and unexpected shock to Julie and her family. Unfortunately, the cost of tests and future treatments is truly overwhelming. They have insurance coverage, but it is not enough. This is not the time for her family to worry about finances. As much as she has given over the years, it is her turn to do the receiving.

Please consider donating. Any amount is appreciated. No amount is too small.

I will keep updating this forum when new information arises. Today, the goal is to have at least $2,500 as soon as possible to help pay for part of the PET scan she needs. We need to make this happen for the Rogas family. Once we reach that goal, we will move forward with the next one.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this. Please continue to pray for Julie and her family by name. We have such a generous community! I know we will reach this goal!
