Help Dad Start Next Chapter...

hello friends! well...is it any surprise that i'm saying "life is hard"? of course it is...for a lot of people right now. however the person i feel most deserving of an easier go of it is my sweet, sweet father. as most of you know, we've both been having a rough time getting back on our feet since my mom passed in 2014. that was challenging (and debt-incurring) enough. throw on top of the sadness heap losing his job of 25 years last year around this time. it's been a mess that we have been desperately trying and failing to fully clean up. as for me, i work and am trying to sell as much of my stuff as possible to help but there's only so much i can do.so when times are hard, sometimes we have to swallow our pride and ask for help. this is a hole we fell into and need help climbing our way out of. it's hard to ask for more from people who have been so generous and kind, but these are desperate times and this is my desperate measure to help my dad. to explain how dire our situation is without getting into too much detail, let me just say this: we're lucky we still have lights on. we're lucky if we can stay another month in this house. when you're essentially broke (okay...really REALLY broke), it's hard to build any savings back up or even take care of basic things taken for granted when you have plenty of funds. we most likely will not have health insurance starting next month. we both have meds we have to take. and not to paint too bleak a picture, but as someone who's already watched one parent suffer til the end (and deal with lack of coverage), i'm not ready to watch that happen yet again. anything helps. any little thing helps. i have an ideal of what amount i think would best set my dad up for success in this next chapter, but i know we'll make do and be grateful for whatever we have, as always. he's too great a person, worked too hard his whole life, is too talented an individual (BOOK HIM FOR GIGS PLEASE! HE PLAYS PIANO BETTER THAN ANYONE I KNOW!!), and too amazing of a father for him to struggle like this. my christmas/new years wish is just to see my dad finally relaxing and happy. if you can make that wish come true even a little, just THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. and if you can't help, please share this so someone else can. i love him so much. thank you in advance for your compassion and generosity during this time. i really appreciate it.
