Memorial For Li & Support For Her Daughter

Donation protected
I never would have thought that my once lively home, full of my parents' distinct chatter, would sound so quiet and empty. 2018 was a tough year for me, as I lost my father, 56, earlier this year. He took his own life due to financial hardships. Just as I thought I was bouncing back from my loss, my mother's health deteriorated. Li Xian Chow (Li, as her friends and family liked to call her) suffered from duodenal (stomach) cancer for almost 2 years. Her diagnosis started at stage 3. She passed at 57, leaving behind just me, her 22 year old daughter. She and my father made many sacrifices to ensure my future would be well. They cared about me more than anything. Li was a kind and gentle soul. Even though her condition was painful, she found so much joy even in the simplest of activities, like cooking, singing, and knitting. She treated every guest we've had with respect and care. She taught me kindess, compassion, diligence and so much more. Her final job was a sales representative at Century 21 department stores, before her condition started to wear her body out. While she was employed, I remember her being busy, but always having time to speak with her friends and coworkers, whether it be on duty or off. She loved her job. I loved visiting her by surprise. I was with Mom during every step of her last journey as cancer took her. She was very aware of my presence, her eyes wide open and her head slightly jerking to my side as I called "Mommy". I knew that she was fighting to stay with me. Unfortunately, she was unable to continue on. Mom was worried about the finances before she passed. I don't think she expected me to be able to handle funeral costs, mortgage, utilities, loans, debts from Dad's work, and the cost of living for myself. With plans to go back to college and finish my degree, I am eager to get my life back on track. But I want to lay my mom to rest, with dignity, first. Any help will be remembered forever in my heart, and is not only a financial gift, but a gift of hope. God bless. ❤️
