Late in September of 2015 Chris Motter was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. Multiple Myeloma causes cancer cells to accumulate in the bone marrow, where they crowd out healthy blood cells. Multiple Myeloma affects your bones and can lead to bone pain, thinning bones and broken bones.
After Chris's diagnosis, he has been unable to work and weekly goes to the hospital for radiation and chemotherapy treatments. Chris has been preparing for a stem cell transplant for late in January of 2016.
Around Christmas of 2015, Chris suffered an injury that affected his bones in his pelvis. Due to the injury, Chris is unable to walk and is reliant solely on a wheelchair and the help of his family and friends. At this point in time, doctors are unable to help with the injury until he can get his cancer in remission. Chris is expected to have his stem cell transplant late in January and will be hospitalized for a few weeks during that time.
If all goes as planned, Chris should be working towards remission after his stem cell transplant and then the doctors can focus on his injury. Even if the doctors are able to come up with a solution for his injury, it will take an extensive amount of time before he will be able to be without a wheelchair or any type of walking assistance.
Chris has always been an active and caring father. In order for Chris to continue to do this, he needs help with getting a vehicle that is wheelchair accessible. Anything at this point in time is helpful and extremely appreciated. Chris has volunteered a great amount of time and heart to the El Dorado wrestling community. Everyone around Chris is doing what they can to help him continue to be the caring and giving father that he is and lead as normal of a life as possible.
