As many of you know, Kathy is in the fight of her life. She was recently diagnosed with glioblastoma, a very aggressive form of brain cancer. Her diagnosis started with a several-day hospital stay, followed by brain surgery in mid-April. Since then, she has had countless doctor and specialist visits and another 8-day stay at Abbott Hospital for complications. In addition to all of this, she has daily appointments for her chemo and radiation treatment.

 

For all this to happen, there is a lot of travel for all the siblings. Leslie and Clinten have made multiple trips over from Michigan, and Kathy has been staying with Rodney and Jodi, who then take her to appointments in Minneapolis.

 

Her treatment is also starting to cause her to lose her hair. Anyone who knows Kathy knows how important her hair is to her! Jodi and Leslie tried to take her wig shopping, but she was uninterested. After talking about it further, the main reason was due to the cost of the wig. This was devastating to hear, and we know the costs of the medical bills, travel, and other associated costs are weighing on her.

 

Kathy has always been a positive and feisty lady, so we want to make sure she focuses that energy on fighting cancer versus worrying about costs. Any help is truly appreciated by the entire family and will ease a lot of stress so they can all concentrate on what really matters, supporting their mom.
