Laurie's Cochlear Implant

As some or all of you may know my sister Laurie lost most of her hearing when she was pregnant with her first child Talea, due to autoimmune disease. With the help of a hearing aid she can hear partially from her left ear. However the doctors say her hearing is getting worse and she wont be able to hear with help of a hearing aid within the next two years. She has however been approved for a cochlear implant which has the possibility of making it so she will never need a hearing aid again. The entire surgery and device is $33,000, but 80% of it will be covered by her medical insurance. So all we need to raise is $6,500.
