Bridgett Banks, my only sister and single mother of one son, Tristan was a dedicated 911 Dispatcher for the vast majority of her career. She has always been a devoted mother and committed representative in Shelby County and Haywood County in West Tennessee. Bridgett was a cherished Dispatcher at Shelby County Fire for an excess of 12 years where she was affectionately known as "The Voice of 911". In conjunction to her duties with Shelby County and to also ensure her son was properly cared for and all ends met, Bridgett without hesitation, acquired a position with Memphis Police Department as a Part-time Dispatcher. In May 2018, Bridgett made one of the most difficult decisions of her life. Due to the excessive stress combined with her failing health, she resigned from both positions. Bridgett"s health unfortunately continued to decline and was admitted into the hospital in August 2018 with no medical insurance at which time she had endured a minor stroke. Bridgett"s sight, motor skills and long and short term memory were greatly impacted by this illness. Her son, at this point became her caregiver . November 6th, Bridgett was admitted back in the hospital where she spent over 18 days in ICU and left there without the ability to walk, almost complete loss of long and short term memory and requires 24 hour around the clock care. Her team of doctors could not assure our family that she would fully recover which was devastating and we were also faced with over $100,000 in Medical Bills. She is also requiring Intense Physical and Occupational therapy which must be paid out of pocket and is assisting in her recovery. My Family and I would appreciate any contribution as we have all now become her caregivers in an effort to keep her out of a nursing facility that can't be afforded and also take care of her other mounting financial obligations. Her son Tristan, who has been by his Mom's side throughout her illness, recently enlisted in the Air Force and is currently in Basic Training. He is very excited about serving for his country but also wants to secure his future so that he will be in position to assist his mother however he can. Thank you for "Believing God for Bridgett " as we trust HIM to completely heal and restore her.
