Hello, my name is Alex Kern. I am trying to raise money for my mom, Heidi Belanger, so she can get a new wheelchair that is not broken and allows her to continue with her everyday life. Being in a wheelchair has not stopped my mom from doing anything. She wakes up every morning of the work week and commutes to her job just like everyone else. On the weekends (and sometimes during the week) she also does the house cleaning such as vacuuming, sweeping, cleaning the bathrooms, laundry, etc. During the winter she even helps us shovel. On her own, she even does grocery’s. My mom has always been one, if not the most, independent woman that I know, but recently her old chair, that is now falling apart, is disabling her from keeping up with the demands of her daily life. Being restricted to a wheelchair has not slowed my mom’s life down at all, but the great need for a new chair is. Please help me raise enough money to be able to buy her a new chair and allow her to to keep her independence. The reason I am turning to everyone for help is because our insurance will not cover the cost for a chair that will allow my mom to keep living independently. The only chair they would pay for is one that does not fold up or move in a way that would allow her to live independently. Thank you to everyone who shares and donates!
