Help Tommy Coomer Go Fishing
Donation protected
This is Tom Coomer. He's my grandpa. He's probably a lot like your grandpa. Or one that you'd love to call your own! He's always got a "Dad" joke ready, loves to fish, and make folks smile all throughout the day! He's one of the hardest working men I know. Without fail he's a true leader in our family. Growing up we watched him go to work diligently. For 29 years he dedicated his days to McDonnell Douglas....until they closed their doors. That moment changed the course of his life. His pension was gone. His career was gone. His plans for their future were forever altered. My grandpa knew life must go on. He knew my Nanny needed him to care for her as her health declined. So here he is, working five days a week at 80 years old as a greeter at Wal-Mart. He brings a smile to other peoples faces every day at his job. I'm so thankful he finds joy in the little things and for everyone who loves him. He worked hard, did everything by the book, and he deserves a little break in life. So if you're feeling in the Christmas spirit and would like to donate to my Papa please do! Anything is appreciated. I've linked the articles to his story below. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/business/economy/i-hope-i-can-quit-working-in-a-few-years-a-preview-of-the-us-without-pensions/2017/12/22/5cc9fdf6-cf09-11e7-81bc-c55a220c8cbe_story.html https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/i-blame-myself-retirement-remains-out-of-reach-for-millions-of-americans/
