Good evening. My name is Ronald "Andy" Andrews. A few months ago, we were excited when Lynn's visit with her oncologist went well, and she made it past the 1000-day cancer-free milestone. All that changed in October when she developed severe pain in her back (not due to any injury), and since a previous scan detected a small kidney lesion, her oncologist ordered a CT scan from her neck to her hips. The results showed lesions in her small intestine and masses on her right lung. She was immediately scheduled for an endoscopy for the intestine lesions, a lung biopsy, and an MRI to get a better picture of the pancreas lesions. The pancreas lesions are not anything. She just has an oddly-shaped pancreas. What were originally thought to be lesions in her intestine are actually stromal tumors, but are not immediately life-threatening. The lung biopsy, however, showed the masses to be stage 4 breast cancer that returned in her lung. She will be starting on aggressive treatment on December 1 to treat it. That cancer is not curable. It is estimated that she will be out of work for at least 6 months. She will have short-term disability through her work, but it will take about 10 days for it to start. Any assistance with the prescriptions she has to pick up before starting treatment as well as our first-of-the-month bills is greatly appreciated. Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving.
