My name is Malone Hamilton. I am a Jamaican living in the UK, and I am raising urgent funds for families in St Elizabeth, Westmoreland, Hanover and Trelawny who have been severely impacted by Hurricane Melissa.
Entire communities in the western and southern belt have been left with significant damage. Many homes have lost roofs, farmers have lost crops, main roads have been compromised, and families are struggling for basic daily necessities. This is not a short-term inconvenience many people are genuinely starting over from nothing.
This effort is to provide food and other critical relief supplies directly to affected households focusing on the most vulnerable: elderly, single mothers, young families and those who have lost livelihood.
Every contribution will go towards purchasing and delivering core essentials such as non-perishable food, water, hygiene products, baby items and other immediate relief supplies. We are working through trusted local individuals and community connectors who are already on the ground and able to execute safe distribution with transparency and speed.
This is a moment for us in the diaspora — especially those of us abroad — to stand in real solidarity and help our people recover with dignity.
Please give whatever you can. And please share this link.
Every donation is a direct act of relief for someone affected today in the west of Jamaica.
Thank you in advance for your kindness, your support, and your urgency.
