Make Austin’s and his PitBulls Life’s Great Again

Hello everybody, first of all I want to genuinely thank you for visiting this gofundme page. My name is Austin Baylor Perry. I’m 25 years old and an ex-heroin addict in recovery. As I write this I am 59 days completely clean and sober. I hit my 2 month mark tomorrow and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be clean and sober. I have been using drugs and alcohol since I was 12 years of age, prescription opiates since I was 17 and heroin/fentanyl since I was 20. I’ve nearly died many countless times. It was a long painful experience, using to deal with my complex emotion bandwidth and extraordinarily traumatic past. This is my first real attempt at getting clean and sober. I have since done a ton of work to process this past trauma and become emotionally vulnerable, open and rigorously honest. I am a very spiritual, God fearing man, and I have asked God for some support, love and guidance. I am someone that has a very difficult time asking for help, however, I took the first major step at asking for help 60days ago when I called Crestview Recovery in SE Portland Oregon to check myself into 90days of intensive inpatient treatment. This was the best decision I’ve ever made. I got the opportunity to turn 25 in treatment, and was blessed with my first sober birthday in 13 years. Since being at Crestview Recovery I have overcame an immense amount of painful past trauma and have learned to begin loving the loyal, trustworthy, honest, committed individual, I truly am. Now, I’m taking a huge uncomfortable step at asking for help yet again. I have 2 beautiful American PitBull Terriers, Lincoln and Valentina (Vivie), both are 11 years old and siblings. Even in my active addiction, I can honestly say I put my two babies first, always. If I had $100 left to my name, I would go buy them a bag of high quality dog food and health supplements before I would ever buy drugs. That is the God honest truth. This sent me into withdrawal many times, but it was always worth it. I love them with all my heart and soul. I rescued these two loving creatures from a woman that had stage 4 cancer and could not take care of them. They were malnourished and abused. Valentina was overbred for the purpose of making this lady as much money as possible to help pay for her cancer treatment, but being overbred has since caused Valentina a ton of health issues. Vivie now has Degenerative Spinal Myopathy and is loosing control of her hind leg function and bowel movements. She now needs a wheelchair, which due to my addiction and treatment I can not afford. On top of that, I cannot afford to have them looked after while their Dad is away in inpatient treatment, the individual currently watching them for me will not be doing so after Dec. 23rd. It is $20 per dog, a day, at Laurel Acres Kennel, a wonderful place that takes amazing care of dogs like Lincoln and Vivie, and that is where I will be taking them. I still have 37 days left in treatment. Also, I have run out of money for treatment, but I must continue to work on myself and need to desperately be here the full 90+ days. For myself and for my babies. I want to thank all of you that took the time out of your day to read this, donation or not. Thank you. It means more to me than I could ever articulate. May god bless you all. If you are capable of donating, anything, really truly helps. Just a dollar, truly helps. That’s a dollar towards Valentina’s wheelchair, dog care and my treatment that I genuinely don’t have. I would love to stay here at Crestview until my scheduled exit date of January 14th, and get to spend my first sober Holiday season in 13 years in treatment, working on myself, but unfortunately, without outside financial support, I can’t. Again, I want to thank each and every one of you for the love and support. Anything truly helps. May God, or the higher power of your understanding, bless you infinitely. Your support means the universe to me. With all the love I have to give, Austin Baylor Perry
