In 5 days we're going to be evicted from our apartment. My name is Kory Shamburger I'm 16 years old and I go to Air Academy High School in Colorado springs. I am writing in hopes to receive a Christmas wish for my mother. Her name is Tamara Smith and we live in Colorado Springs, Colorado. All my life I have seen my mother work and work hard to provide for us. She is a very nice person, she is very caring, and patience, but most of all She loves her kids so much. She does everything for us! She works with old people, taking care of them and making sure they take their medicine and stuff. She used to work alot, like from the early morning to 6 or 7 at night, shes a single parent and all together, it's me and my 3 little siblings. Camyron is 8, Omar is 6 and my little sister Amaya is 4. Usually around this time my mom will work overtime so to be able to get us gifts and things that we want for Christmas. She is the best mom in the whole entire earth and world!! She's so amazing, I don't know what we would do without her. She always makes sure we have everything we need even if it means her being without something she wanted. She always put us first and takes good care of us. About two months ago in October, my mom and my little brother's and little sister went hiking on one of her only days off and my mom fell coming down the mountain and broke her leg and since then she has been unable to work and has had had little money to support us and pay the rent. She had to have surgery to repair the broken bones and its been real hard and stressful on her. I know she worries about the bills and not having money for Christmas. I've heard her crying late at night and I fell so helpless. But being my mom, she tries not to let that show. And she assures me everything is going to be fine. But I know it's not going to be alright if my mom don't pay the rent. One day I came home from school and a note was posted on the door, I took the papers in to my mom, it was papers from the office saying that we were going to be evicted from our apartment if rent is not paid. I gave the papers to my mom and I asked what did this mean she looked at me and said it's not for you to worry about. But it is... because I know we have 5 days before we're evicted. I know my mom believes in God and prays and all that, and so do i, and is why I wanted to write and nominate her to be granted a Christmas wish. She does so much all the time for others and us, and it's sucks that she broke her leg, and can't work and is now being put out. It doesn't seem fair or right, but I guess that's just the way things go sometimes. And now I don't want anything for Christmas, all I want for Christmas is not to be put out of our home. If I had one wish and I could wish for anything, I'd wish for us to not have to move. I'd wish that my mom have the money to pay the rent. And that's my Christmas wish. I know you are probably flooded with emails and letters of people all with very special wishes. But I pray this letter finds you, and that you find me. thank you for listening. My phone number is [phone redacted]. My mom number is [phone redacted]. Thank you Sincerely, Kory Shamburger
