A few months ago, Amber Williams was your average healthy 26 yr old, living her passions out as a Stylist at Bravo Salon & Spa in Chippewa Falls, while dedicating her time to friends and family and loving life.
On December 5th, 2013 Amber made a trip to Urgent Care for what was thought to be bronchitis. After draining 3300 mL's of fluid from her lungs and around her heart, it was discovered that she has second stage T Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma, a rare type of cancer that affects a small percentage of people.
As a result of this agressive cancer, Amber is unable to work. Currently she is undergoing intense chemotherapy treatments, where she has to be admitted to the hospital for 5 days to receive around the clock chemo and spinal taps (one of which resulted in a spinal patch). After her 5 days of treatment, Amber has 2 weeks off. This time off is filled with multiple doctor appts to continually monitor her health. Most recently Amber had to stay a full day in the hospital to receive blood and platelet transfusions. As a result, Amber's immune system has taken a toll, and she is battling severe fatigue and muscle pain.
At this time, the agressive chemo treatments will continue for 6-8 months, followed by scans, blood tests, chemo pills, and possibly other treatments. The overal length of treatments and procedures is estimated to take around 2 years.
Please help out Amber by donating to pay for medical expenses! Mark you calendars for March 16th, 2014 for a benefit for Amber as well. (more information to come)
