My name is Demi and I have been to Turkey many times to help at a shelter that has over 500 stray dogs. I am going back again this month because I can’t walk away from them. The truth is it costs £700 every single week just to feed them and the shelter is struggling. There is no government help. Without donations these dogs will not eat.

I have seen how desperate things are. Some of the dogs have been abandoned. Some were born on the streets. Many have suffered neglect. Every pound raised goes straight towards food.
