Help Luke Walk Again

Hi friends,

We’re asking for your help for Luke, a sweet rescue pup we brought home from Nassau, Bahamas after fostering him during a volunteer trip. He stole our hearts—and now he needs us more than ever.

Luke is battling severe orthopedic issues. He was already fighting heartworm when he arrived in Canada, and we’ve since learned he has hip dysplasia and major damage in both knees. He’s in pain every day and needs urgent surgery on both knees to walk without pain. The total cost is $8,500.

Luke’s story is heartbreaking. As a puppy, he was left on the door steps of the shelter with his 5 other sibling, he was then adopted from the shelter when he was 5 month old in the Bahamas.. Months later, he was found after being thrown from a moving car. When scanned, the microchip revealed it was Luke. It’s believed he had been confined to a crate for long periods, unable to move or grow properly.

Despite everything, Luke is still the gentlest, most loving dog. He just wants to run, play, and be part of a family—but he can’t until the pain is gone.
