On October 27th, our sister Nicole’s home caught fire. The kids were home at the time, and thankfully everyone got out safely — but before help could arrive, the fire reached the wood box and spread quickly. By the time the fire department arrived, flames were visible above the roofline. While part of the structure remains, the home suffered major smoke and water damage and will need extensive rebuilding and replacement of nearly everything inside.

Nicole, her husband, and the kids are staying with family right now — all five of them in a home that already has four. It’s a full house, but everyone is safe, and that’s what matters most.

If you know Nicole, you know she’s someone who always shows up for others. She’s spent her career helping families as an Oregon CPS agent, and she and her husband are active, caring members of their community. Just last week, Nicole opened her home to two foster teens — and now, only days later, she’s facing the challenge of starting over after this fire.

Michelle and I are raising funds to help Nicole and her family rebuild their home and replace what was lost. Any amount helps — and even if you can’t donate, sharing this link, keeping them in your thoughts, or helping with gift cards or supplies means so much.
