Hello, my name is Jenni and my husbands name is Brendan. We adopted our sweet baby Willie 3 years ago from the shelter and he has become the most important thing in our lives. He’s the smartest and the sweetest boy ever and is loved by everyone who has the pleasure of meeting him.
Unfortunately, we had to take him to the emergency vet due to him not being able to urinate, causing extreme discomfort.
He was diagnosed with a urinary obstruction and was sedated to drain his bladder. They said that in his xray, his bladder should show up completely black due to all the fluid, but instead was mostly white. Some cats form crystals in their urine which can lead to blockage and in some cases, death. The white on his xray showed that he had a very dangerous amount of crystals in his bladder, they cleared out what they could but there is still quite a bit in there they were unable to clear. The next step is surgery. He will need the PU surgery in order to hopefully prevent him from getting blocked again, as this is usually a recurring incident for cats that this has happened to, and is especially common in male cats.
Unfortunately, the surgery is going to cost around $3000, and with my husband not being able to work the past two weeks until the foreseeable future due to having emergency surgery from an injury at work, we are in a very tight spot with money and bills and unable to provide this payment upfront.
Our boy means the world to us and we want to do anything we can to help him so he can live a long healthy life.
Any and all donations are greatly appreciated, and if you are unable to donate, please share.
Thank you in advance.
