My name is Meredith and I am creating this fundraiser for my lovely friend Rachelle, to help her pay down (or pay off) her medical bills. Rachelle fought a more rare cancer that affects 1 in a million people and recently, was finally deemed in full remission. Whilst she’s been able to manage her medical expenses on her own, she is getting worked over by the financial distress many do in the wake of cancer. Despite her good health now, she is working herself into the ground teaching full time, as well as balancing two other “side hustles” as she calls it, making and selling her beautiful clutch purses and working nights and weekends in retail. I’m certain that if you’re mates with Rachelle, you rarely see her because all she does is work.She’s managed to pay down a sizable amount, but there’s still more to pay totaling about $7800 USD. (She hasn’t given me the exact cost, but that is the number she mentioned in our most recent conversation). Then in stark contrast, it’s almost a fault of hers that she rarely asks for help, she’ll figure out a way to take care of it herself. She is like a ray of sunshine for many of us and a definite source of love and laughter in so many of our lives.
