Love For Leena - F Cancer!

Hello friends, family, and genuinely compassionate individuals. This page was created on behalf of Leena Vantrece one of the most kindhearted, empathetic, selfless, magnetic, fiercest, silliest, beautiful women I have the great pleasure of calling my beloved friend. She has dedicated her life to helping children in need as a special education teacher and now it’s time for us to help her! A couple months ago Leena was diagnosed with Gray Zone Lymphoma (GZL). GZL is a very rare and aggressive lymphoma that is often present as a large mass in the mediastinum. It’s called gray zone lymphoma because it has features of both primary mediastinal large B-cell lymphoma and classical Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Because of the rarity of this lymphoma, there are no well-established treatment standards; however, healthcare providers recommend chemotherapy and radiation therapy to treat. Currently Leena has gone through two out of her six sessions of chemotherapy. This week she’ll have a PET scan to check how the treatment has thus far affected the disease followed by her 3rd chemotherapy session. Those of you who are close to Leena know how strong and determined she is and we know in our heart’s that she will kick this cancer’s ass! Those of you who also know Leena know that she’s extremely independent and does not like to ask for help or a handout. Lucky for her she has friends and family who will ask for her. Fighting cancer is emotionally and physically exhausting and stressful enough as it is, let’s not add the impending strain of medical bills to the enormous weight on Leena’s shoulders!
