Be A Hero For Dee Dee Gollin

On August 7, 2018, after being taken to the Bellingham ER for an onset of double vision, the doctors diagnosed Dee Dee with a very rare brain tumor located in the supra-sellar part of her brain. The tumor is rare because of its location in the brain. It is wrapped around the pituitary stalk, which is a part of the brain where the hypothalamus connects to the pituitary gland and regulates numerous systems within the body. The tumor is so rare there are few neurosurgeons who have experience treating this type of tumor. DeeDee has been very fortunate to have found a neurosurgeon in Seattle who has experience treating patients who have this rare tumor type. The surgeon has informed Dee Dee that after the surgery she will be in the Neuro-ICU for approximately 5-7 days. In addition I will be unable to return to work for about 12 weeks. The expenses related to this treatment will include; meeting our annual insurance deductible of $7000.00, seven days of food and lodging for her husband David near the hospital, expenses for child care while she is in the hospital and lost income while she is out of work. Therefore, we are trying to raise $8,000.00. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
