Stage IV Brain Cancer A Year Later
Donation protected
Hello friends, It’s been almost a year since I was admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital where a migraine (I thought), landed me in emergency brain surgery.
At my follow up I was told the tumor pathology showed I had a malignant grade IV glioblastoma multiform.
This year we face some new challenges I am asking for help with if you are able. And thank you again to everyone who donated and shared last year and helped me make my goal in about 72 hours. ❤️
Here are the new challenges creating financial challenges for us at this time:
✅ our landlords are selling the house we live in and we now need to move asap. We need help with down payments, moving costs and cleaning costs. I appreciate everyone who has offered to help move but with my condition we are going to need professional packers and movers and cleaners.
✅ my doctors are trying very hard to get me on Keytruda (a very promising immunotherapy). I likely will need to pay for the first few months out of pocket, about $5000 in itself.
✅ my new chemotherapy treatment (CCNU) debilitates me for four to six week intervals. I need to hire someone to help around the home and with my daughter on a multiple times a week basis. I honestly cannot get out of bed for the life of me and so I will need someone here most weekday mornings.
✅ my daughter also needs a tutor and sometimes rides to her appointments etc.
✅ my prescription copays are now close to $500/month and some months I need to pick and choose what I believe are the most important because I can’t afford them all.
✅ travel expenses in the case I am accepted to a clinical trial for my condition at Duke Brain Cancer Center in Maryland or MD Anderson in Texas/California.
✅ our cats (2) are both due to see a veterinarian.
✅the unexpected!
Thank you so much everyone. You have all been above and beyond supportive of me!
If you cannot give, please just share. If this “trends” here my story will show up to new people in the area. ❤️
