Nicholas Hall-Haines- Brain Injury

Our sweet brother Nicholas Hall has always been such an anchor in our family. He's the first person to be there when we need him, with a joke, with his love, with his time. He is a genius, with a PhD in astrophysics, with a professional trajectory that has impressed us all for years. Two years ago, tragedy struck and we are in desperate need of your help. He sustained a brain injury that has left him unable to work, unable to engage with the modern world, and unable to perform tasks that the rest of us take for granted. His condition is also getting worse. He has lost his job, cannot read, drive, look at screens, talk on the phone, or even be around a lot of stimulus for more than a few minutes per day. Sometimes he must go weeks without any of this, creating significant strain on him and his family. His beloved and amazing wife works to sustain them and their three children, but it is not enough. His insurance is not the best, with coverage limited to his home state. Disability insurance is also extremely limited. He has seen dozens of doctors over the past two years, but his case--perhaps compounded by previous severe concussions--is an unusual one. The generalists' prognosis is grim. Fortunately, we have identified two specialists at premier hospitals in Boston who may be able to help him. This is where you come in. Their services are out-of-network, and the medical costs and other out-of-pocket expenses are so much more than their family can bear.
