Urgent Help Needed: Save a Friend from Crisis
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Jens Krause, a long-term Byron Bay resident and member of the Rotary and Golf Clubs. I’m reaching out to ask for your help to save a dear friend and community member who, through no fault of their own, is in desperate need.
Her Story:
She came to Australia nearly nine years ago and fully assimilated into the community as a self- employed business owner, making many friends and calling our community her home. A victim of severe domestic violence, she was forced to flee from her partner, immediately impacting the status of her Partner Visa and rights to live and work in Australia. As you can imagine, that's taken a terrible physical and mental toll
After a lengthy appeals process and phenomenal support from the community and Ministerial intervention she has now been granted a bridging visa whilst her ongoing Visa is reviewed. However, she has been denied the chance to work. Without work rights or social security she’s left with no way to support herself for up to two years, while waiting for a decision.
How You Can Help:
Your generosity will be a lifeline. Any donation you can make will help cover her essential living expenses, legal fees, and health needs, while she fights to stay in Australia and rebuild her life.
Please join me in standing with our friend during this critical time. Our community is better off for having her here and anything you give will make a difference for a dear neighbor, whose life has been turned upside down.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
