In April of this year, our Dad was diagnosed with Stage 3 Adenocarcinoma Lung Cancer. Dad has always been the strongest, most hardworking man that we know. It has been tough watching him slow down and not be able to do all of the things he loves to do around his home and with his family. With this diagnosis has come an early retirement, which he was not financially prepared for.

In the last 8 months he went from working everyday and living a normal life to missing a lot of work due to being sick and not knowing why or what was wrong. With an early retirement he will have to pay out of pocket for his medical insurance on top of all of his other finances until we can get him medically retired. Doctors have told us this is an aggressive cancer, and they have to go all in on treatment as it has already grown since his initial diagnosis.

We will have to go to radiation and chemotherapy treatments 5 days a week for the next few months, and this is just another financial toll on him to have to handle.

Anyone who knows Dad knows that he is the type of person to help others even when he is facing his own challenges, and now it’s our time to take care of him. Dad has an amazing support system fighting right beside him and is not one to ask for help but we would like to make life a little easier and help take some of the load off of his shoulders so he can focus on his treatments and fighting this ugly disease.
