Help Artist Evan Willnow & Family Face Brain Tumor
Donation protected
Evan Willnow is an award-winning St. Louis-based digital artist and author supporting his family -- his wife and daughter -- through his creative work.
In May of 2019, he suffered a frightening seizure and heart attack that stopped his heart for several minutes before doctors could restart it. Just over a month later, he suffered another seizure while driving.
With further diagnosis, they learned a fast-growing brain tumor was behind both incidents. In September of 2019, Evan braved brain surgery that removed a large portion of the tumor but also revealed it to be a Stage 4 Glioblastoma. Doctors can treat it to buy some time, but it’s likely incurable.
Evan’s started chemotherapy and radiation to fight the cancer. His condition’s causing him peripheral blindness and double-vision – combined with the strain of treatment, he can no longer work. As his family’s primary wage earner, they now find themselves under heavy financial burden.
None of the Willnows wanted to ask others for support – it’s not who they are. But with some persuading by medical professionals and others who’ve seen and understand the financial burden they face, they’ve begun this GoFundMe campaign to assist with the expenses rising ahead. A lot of people who know Evan and his family have expressed an interest to help, and this is a way to do it.
The family thanks you all for your hope, well wishes, and support as they face this obstacle that will, ultimately, change their lives forever.
Another way to support Evan – one that would be personally meaningful to him: The day he was handed the initial tumor diagnosis, Zero In, Zero Out was released -- the latest novel he wrote in his spy thriller series. With all the medical activity, he’s been unable to get behind promoting it as he planned. But the book’s publisher, Legendary Planet, has offered to direct all their profits from the sales of Zero In, Zero Out toward Evan and his family as part of this fundraiser. Even while in treatment, Evan’s at work inching the next book in the series forward, and it would mean the world to him to see his novels reach their audience. You can support him -- and become a fan of his Henry Bride Thrillers -- by purchasing his books on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Evan-Willnow/e/B00F5C1RUU
