Christine-My cancer fighting friend

Donation protected
My friend Christine- a 48 year old Nebraska girl, born the oldest of 6.  The mother of one, Matthew, grandmother of 2 adorable babies, Liam (2) & Elise (8 mos.) and adored wife of Tom.  If you know Christine, there is not a bad word that can be said.  I have know this lovely person for 20 years.  She has been a nothing but a loyal concerned friend to myself and many others and a great source of happiness to me everyday.  She is my sunshine.  Always cheerful, supportive and understanding.  As you can see from her picture, ready for anything and loves to have fun!  We have shared many glasses of wine together and laughed often.  She is kind thoughtful, smart, and one of the best friends I have ever had.

In 2011, Christine was experiencing some unusual abdominal pain.  A visit to the doctor brought news of a mass and the possiblity of ovarian cancer.  After a very big surgery the news came back...stage 4 ovarian cancer.  Since that time, Christine has fought hard to change her life.  Eat better, excercise more, educate herself, stay on top of her medical care and drink less wine (maybe the hardest part, LOL).  If you've had cancer or are battling it you know all of this is diffcult and all consuming.  The fight has been manageble until this past April when she developed a cold and a cough.  Doctors say it's a "virus" but it has been over 8 months and the cough is still here and worse than ever.  Sleeping is difficult because of the coughing fits.  She coughs so hard it sounds like a lung will come up.  She coughs day and night.  Ovarian cancer is smart, when you feed it chemo in one location, it moves to another.  It is a never ending, complicated battle.  It is in her lungs now.  She is on oxygen to help with breathing.  We are concerned to say the least.  She is tired but keeps fighting.  She never complains although I know she'd like to.  She tries to stay positive for everyone around her but I can see it's becoming more difficult.  She's tough but so is cancer.

The medicals bills mount.  They are, I am sure, a constant source of worry and control her decision making.  I have two wishes for my friend but I need your help.  All of her family is in Nebraska.  My first wish is for her to be able, without financial worry, see her family more often.  She needs them close.  My second wish is for her to be able to pay for alternative treatments to better help her fight!!  I think we all wish for people we care about to have no worries.  Please help me take some of her worry away.  If everyone who reads this gave even $5, it would be amazing what we could do for her.  Please forward this to everyone you know and help me give my friend an amazing gift.  Thank you for reading this and considering a donation.  Sincerely, Thank you!

Eternally greatful-
Christine's friend, Sara

P.S. Christine - don't be mad at me ok.  I love you.  Take the gift myself and your friends want for you.
