Help Sapphire Get Life-Saving Surgery

Donation protected
On April 13th, my son had to rush his dog to the emergency vet, only to be turned away and told they weren't taking any more animals. Now, mind you, he had his dog in his arms at the time with blood on her, so they definitely could see something was wrong.

Monday morning, he called his vet to get her in and was told they couldn't get her in that day but to come Tuesday morning. So, my son sat up most of the night with her, not knowing what was going on. He had taken her outside Sunday evening to do her duties, came back, and called me to say he thought something was wrong with her paw. I returned home to check on her, and by then, she was laying on her side, shaking terribly and bleeding from her area. The paw he thought was hurt wasn't; she was just holding it up.

So, back to Monday night, she had stopped eating her dry food, but he managed to get her to eat wet food, so she was eating, drinking, and still able to go out to the bathroom but was still laying on her side, bleeding, and shaking. So, Tuesday came, and he took her to the vet. The doctor said that he wanted to do blood samples and an X-ray, which wasn't possible due to the cost of them. The doctor ended up prescribing an antibiotic and said even if it helps her, it just shows she has an infection, but we won't know where the infection is without getting the blood samples and X-ray done. Just by everything that was told to the doctor, he said it sounds like she has pyometra and will need emergency surgery ASAP.

Then again, there's another problem: the cost of the surgery. Low end of surgery: $1063.66. High end of surgery: $1617.66. Blood sample: $32.70. Blood panel 3: $144.67. X-ray (standard 1-3 views): $192.32. Without these things, my son's dog won't make it and will die. He has had her since she was 6 weeks old; she just turned 5 years old in February. He considers her not only his best friend/family but refers to her as his daughter. Seeing how this is affecting him, watching her is really heartbreaking. My family doesn't like to ask for help because I usually am the one to figure things out, but this one right here is a hard one.

So, with that being said, if anyone could find it in their heart to help a boy help his dog/daughter, we would greatly appreciate it, especially him and her (Sapphire). Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts. Anything helps, even if it's just a share.
