One year ago our dad was diagnosed with colon cancer. He underwent a 4 hour surgery to remove the mass and we were so grateful when the doctors told us that there were no signs of the cancer left after surgery. He followed up with the Oncologist as requested and again our prayers were answered when we were told that there didn't seem to be a need for treatment. Almost exactly one year later dad found himself facing the news that no one ever wants to hear all over again. His colon cancer was back. This time the cancer was in a more complicated area of the colon. With repeated trips to DC for tests, scans, etc. It was recommended that he have a combination treatment of radiation and chemo. After a few weeks of treatment he began having severe pain and his body could not tolerate the treatments any longer. The decision was made to stop the treatments and push forward with surgery to remove the new mass. He recently had the surgery which was 6 hours this time and much more difficult. He has a long road of recovery and treatment ahead of him with visits to the Oncologist and future surgery to remove the Colostomy. As you can imagine the emotional stress, financial worry and sleepless nights for our family are overwhelming and hard to bear at times. To be able to help alleviate some of the financial worry so that he can focus on healing would mean more than words can say. Any amount is greatly appreciated. A huge thank you in advance!
