We are reaching out as a family during one of the most difficult times of our lives. Our brother Mehboob is fighting cancer, and we are struggling to meet the costs of his treatment. He has been diagnosed with Small Cell Lymphocytic Lymphoma (SLL), a slow-growing form of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma at stage 3.
We know that in the past he made mistakes, and many people in the community remember those times. But he is still our brother, a father, and a human being who now finds himself facing a serious illness. Whatever his past may have been, he does not deserve to face death in this way.
As Muslims, we believe that only Allah has the right to judge and punish. None of us truly know the circumstances that led someone down a certain path. What we do know is that every life is precious, and every person deserves a chance at forgiveness and mercy.
He has children who still need him. He is also the only son to our elderly mother, who is devastated and praying every day to have her son by her side for longer. His family needs him, and he deserves the chance to make the most of the time Allah grants him. We ask from our hearts: please help us keep him alive.
He has completed 5 chemotherapy sessions in Tanzania but at this stage, all treatment options in Tanzania have failed, and the only hope left is to fly him abroad for urgent treatment. We want to be completely transparent: we are happy to provide invoices, bills and a full breakdown of where every donation is being used.
Any contribution you make will be a sadaqah, a charity that Allah sees. It will bring ease not only to him but to his children and his mother, and it will weigh heavily in your favour on the Day of Judgement.
May Allah forgive all of us for our mistakes, shower His mercy on us, and reward you for any kindness you show in helping our brother through this trial.
With love, prayers and tears, from our broken hearts,
The Jaffer Family
