Hey I’m Clay,
I truly have made an effort to resolve my financial woes myself but these past few months have made doing it alone impossible
I’ve run into quite a few gnarly situations as of late back to back to back.
I was hospitalized last month for six days which made me miss out on $638.75 in income (before taxes but discounting tips).
I’ve also run into issues with my car resulting in repair expenses of $2,037.57: spark plugs, wheel spin balance, tubeless valve stem, tire disposal, coolant temperature sensor, axle shaft assembly, stabilizer bar removal and replacement, general check. A recent checkup has revealed the need for a new distributor.
My current roommate was fired and is currently unemployed. I’m also providing shelter to two 21 year olds who have lost their housing to escape abusive living situations, one of them being unemployed.
Before the events I’ve described prior I’ve been slowly but steadily recovering from losses I’ve weathered from three previous living situations I’ll keep in brief.
The first being in North Corvallis with my then rapist and abuser who has his sentencing in January 2026 who made off with our car and never compensated me for the deposit nor several months of rent. The property management company then hit me with an approximate $2000 charge for “damages to the unit”.
The second being in south Corvallis wherein I had a roommate that could/ would not help with rent nor bills.
The third I lived with four other people in a house downtown. Three of them had lied about their financial stability, two of the three were incapable of keeping after themselves, one of them also bringing in an additional four animals onto the lease without disclosing to either the landlord nor us. For four months I was paying the rent to the house and my current apartment at once.
Despite all the hardships, I’ve still managed to stay true to my ideals and help people. I started the RRFM, funded the Free Store, cooked for Stop the Sweeps, and have over ten times provided temporary shelter for people that would have otherwise been homeless.
Please help me so I can help myself and keep helping others!
