Burma floods: Heavy monsoon rain causes widespread flooding. More than 200,000 have been affected by the floods in Burma (Myanmar). Per UN, it is expected to rise over the coming days.
Every aspect in Myanmar seems to always be at a vulnerable level: health care, livelihoods, farming and food production, people displacement, migration, education, economy, politics, etc. and when it seems like some things have improved, we seem to somehow take a step backwards.
This tragic national disaster explodes the underlying problems once again. The extent of destruction is huge with impending chances that things will be worse for months, if not years. There will be concerns with food shortage due to production, lives/ livelihoods and home lost, etc., and more importantly impact on the health issues (malaria, diseases, malnutrition, etc.)
The Burmese government is doing the best it can. However, the devastation is very huge; consequently Burma needs international assistance. We encourage all of you to be part of this campaign by donating money and/or spread the words and/or share this link to increase the international awareness. Thank you for your support, generosity and kindness.
